CHNC challenge 147: peace

So many lovely entries for last week's challenge - I thought 'square cards' would be popular - it has become my own favourite choice of size and style. What a delight it has been to visit your blogs and see all your wonderful crafting. Thank you, everyone, for your support - whether you are a regular to this challenge blog or here for the first time. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make this coming week.

Before I get on to today's challenge, I need to let you know the winners of challenge 146. There were, of course, three opportunities to win a prize.

The first winner:

The second winner:

Now on to:
Challenge 147

For today's challenge I'd like you to incorporate 'peace' - you can use the word if you want to, but you don't have to, it can be a peaceful scene - picture of what you think of as peace.

The first sponsor is Di's Digi Downloads:

This is a little bit about Di who produces such gorgeous digital images:

'I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!'

The randomly-chosen winner will be able given a $10 voucher to spend - just click on the link and feast your eyes on the super images - you will not be disappointed!

The second sponsor is Crafty Sentiments:

'We are a small family fun online company that offers crafters fun and whimsical unmounted rubber stamps, digital stamps as well as cutting dies all from our very own exclusive range. Perfect for your cards and scrapbooks! Our stamps are made from deep etched grey rubber and our cutting dies are made from good quality metal from the USA and UK. We also stock essential craft products for your scrapbooking and card making needs.'

The prize for the randomly chosen winner will receive three digis of their choice.

The third sponsor is CAS-ual Fridays:

'CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is a small company with big ideas located in beautiful Colorado. All the stamps are proudly made in the USA from the finest clear photopolymer. They love ink and stamp like a dream! While the stamps are created with Clean And Simple design in mind (hence the CAS in our name) they will absolutely delight any stamper's style. Whether you are a CAS enthusiast, or lover of all things layer-licious, you will have a blast getting inky with them. New stamps are released nearly every month, and the Girl Fridays provide continuous inspiration, and tips, for your oohing and aahing pleasure. Be sure to follow along on our store blog so you don't miss a thing!'

The randomly chosen winner will receive a $25 gift certificate:

Please visit the websites of these generous sponsors and support them -
you will be spoiled for choice!

For my card I've used stamps from a set called 'Christmas carols that was generously provided by CAS-ual Fridays - you can see them here in their online store (the dove is a stamp I already had). This is on My Crafty Outlook here. The paper clips are only being used to hold the gatefold together for the photo.

Now it's over to you. As usual, you can use any materials, any techniques, as long as the end result is a card that either uses the word 'peace' or is a 'peaceful' card.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 22:00 UK time Friday 25 October. Please mention my blog and create a link within the post for your creation.

You can enter as many times as you wish (a good way to build up your stock of Christmas cards) and also link to any other challenges that allow you to do so, but new work only, please.

A new challenge will be set on Saturday 26 October when there will once again be three chances to win a prize, thanks to generous sponsors.

Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added.

If you haven't done so already, please become a follower and grab my bright pink button to post on your sidebar and help continue to spread the word about this challenge blog - thank you. Also it would be great if you would consider becoming a follower - lovely to welcome recent new followers.

Please also consider going to CHNC Facebook page and clicking 'like' - there are now 225 'likes' - it would be great if we could increase this soon. I always show at least one of my cards for the next challenge in advance and it's a good place to catch up with any news, winners etc.

Don't forget

Don't forget that 'anything goes' monthly challenges are on my Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra blog - you can share any Christmas card you make throughout the whole month, including those that you link here - there is no restriction on the number of entries you can make throughout the month - the link for CHNC challenge extra for October is here.

Thank you for your support
I look forward to seeing your entries
