CHNC challenge 96: no patterned paper

STOP PRESS NEWS
Link for a chance to win Christmas candy

Thank you for all the wonderful entries for last week's challenge - so lovely to see so much variety and creativity. By the time today's challenge ends we will be into November and getting scarily closer to Christmas - in fact there will only be seven weeks left to make those cards! I know that some of you have been building up quite a stack of Christmas cards throughout the year, but some of you might have only just started, so it's a good idea to take advantage of the motivation of the challenge and get some more made.

Please remember to have a look at my CHNC page on facebook - if you do go there please join in by clicking 'like' so that I know that you've been there. During the week you'll find updates and hints of the next challenge - please feel free to chat there - I know that some of you do already - thank you. Let's see if we can get at least 100 'likes' by the end of the year.

Before I get on to today's challenge, I need to let you know the winner of challenge 95. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this is the result of using random.org:

Number 4: Monica Z
who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations, Monica! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com with your name and full address so I can arrange for you to receive your prize from That Craft Place.

Challenge 96
For today's challenge I'm asking you to make a Christmas card
with no patterned paper

For today's challenge I'm very pleased to introduce a new sponsor:

Lou of Creative Craft World writes:

'Creative Craft World, is an online shop run by myself. It started off life as an ebay shop 6 years ago and has just grown over the years. I love scrapbooking and it has encouraged me to do things I never had before and I love being able to provide you all with craft products at reasonable prices.'

The prize will be one of their October mini-kits:

For my card I've used dry and wet embossing with silver glitter borders - you can read more about it on My Crafty Outlook here (sorry that the heat embossing has warped the card a bit so it needs to be flattened, but I didn't have time to do that when preparing this).

And here's another one that you can read more about on My Crafty Outlook here:

And another one, using the same Three Kings stamp - details here:

And yet another one from me - there seems to be a pattern emerging of CAS cards, no patterned paper and wise men!! - more about it here:

Now it's over to you. As usual, you can use any materials, any techniques, as long as the end result is a Christmas card - and this week please make make any Christmas card you like, but don't use any patterned paper.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 22:00 UK time Friday 2 November.  Please mention my blog and create a link within the post for your creation.

You can enter as many times as you wish (a good way to build up your stock of Christmas cards) and also link to any other challenges that allow you to do so, but new work only, please.

A new challenge will be set on 3 November.

Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added. As our clocks go back an hour in the UK Sunday morning, please bear with me if I've got the linky code wrong - I will adjust accordingly if I need to.

If you haven't done so already, please become a follower and grab my bright pink button to post on your sidebar and help continue to spread the word about this challenge blog - thank you.

CHNC challenge 95: black and white and one other colour if you wish

What a fantastic week - 130 entries for last week's CHNC challenge 94!!

You broke the record for the greatest number of entries for a single challenge. It was good to see 'regulars' joining in, but also good to welcome new crafters on board - thank you for the new 'likes' on my facebook page and also for the new followers on here. Snowflakes are obviously very popular on Christmas cards.

Before I get on to today's challenge, I need to let you know the winner of challenge 94. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this is the result of using random.org:

Number 41: DoreenO
who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations, Doreen! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to claim your $21 of digital stamps from Bugaboo Stamps.

Challenge 95
For today's challenge I'm asking you to make a Christmas card using black and white and one other colour if you wish -
or a couple of other colours if you cheat like I did!

For today's challenge I have a new sponsor:

Lisa Horton, the owner, runs on online shop as well as a bricks and mortar one in Eastbourne:

'We are a UK based bricks and mortar craft shop, stocking craft and card making supplies. We are dedicated to providing quality craft items at great prices. We stock a huge range of stamps, inks, alterable materials, embellishments, tools and all you need to create fabulous projects.

We pride ourselves on being welcoming, helpful and honest when it comes to purchasing products. We always offer to show you how to use items before you buy them, and you can try out the latest products in stock.'

The prize will be a Molly Bloom Christmas stamp and ribbon.

I can say from personal experience that there is always a warm welcome from the owner, Lisa Horton, and the rest of her staff. It is a delight to visit the shop and find lots of temptation ... I've always come away with some delightful purchases.

For my card I've used the a lovely stamp that I bought on my last visit to That Craft Place in Eastbourne - 'Merry Christmas, Deer' by IndigoBlu - stamped with Versafine onyx black and heat embossed with detail black powder - you can read more about my card on My Crafty Outlook here. It's not a good photo because of the reflection, but it does show some of the black embossing as well as the foiling on the black and gold card. I started off with the intention of making the card black and white with a touch of red, but, of course, in the end I added gold as well - so if I can cheat a little, so can you!

And here's a second one that you can read more about here - and I didn't cheat with this one!!

Another card (cheated again, I'm afraid):

Now it's over to you. As usual, you can use any materials, any techniques, as long as the end result is a Christmas card - and this week please make a card that is black and white with one other colour added if you wish - two if you cheat like I did - but try to make the card predominantly black and white.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 22:00 UK time Friday 26 October.  Please mention my blog and create a link within the post for your creation.

You can enter as many times as you wish (a good way to build up your stock of Christmas cards) and also link to any other challenges that allow you to do so, but new work only, please.

A new challenge will be set on 27 October.

Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added.

If you haven't done so already, please become a follower and grab my bright pink button to post on your sidebar and help continue to spread the word about this challenge blog - thank you.

Bugaboo Stamps are proud to sponsor this challenge - they are offering $21 of digital stamps to the randomly selected winner.

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: A Short Essay
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing!  From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.  Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps   at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT   for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug

For this challenge I'm also very pleased to welcome Kim as a Guest Designer.

Kim writes:

'I am a self confessed 'Stampaholic' living with my family in Surrey.
I am known as the 'Granny in the Attic' and have four Grandchildren Megan(12), Reece(9) and the twins Saskia and Ciaran(5).
I work fulltime in a BP Simply Foods petrol station and then craft in my spare time.
I have written two books. The first on Teabag Folding and the second on Rubber Stamping, both for Search Press.
I have written numerous articles for magazines including Craft Stamper.
I teach classes at various locations around the country and have demonstrated at many of the major Stamp Shows.
I am on the Design Team for Sir Stampalot, Hobby Art, Imagination and Clarity Stamps and several of my cards have featured on each of their TV shows.
I recently was lucky enough to make some of the samples for the latest Woodware catalogue.
I love joining in with the challenge blogs and have joined the DT at Crafty Cardmakers and The Stampman.'

Kim has made this delightful card using blue frosty digital papers kindly supplied by Bugaboo Stamps as well as their 'snoman 4 square' digital stamp. You can read more about Kim's card on here blog here. Please visit and leave her a comment.

Thank you, Kim, for joining me as a Guest Designer with your beautiful card.

CHNC challenge 93: carol singing

Thank you so much for all the wonderful entries for last week's challenge. It was lovely to see so many varied takes on the 'all wrapped up' theme - such inspiration!

Before I get on to today's challenge, I need to let you know the winner of challenge 92. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this is the result of using random.org:

Number 11: Sandra H
who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations,Sandra! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to claim your  Shelly's images $9 gift certificate

Now we move on to today's challenge:

Challenge 93

Today's challenge is 'carol singing',
however you want to interpret it

This week's challenge is being sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads- the randomly-chosen winner will be able given a $10 voucher to spend - just click on the link and feast your eyes on the super images - you will not be disappointed!
This is a little bit about Di who produces such gorgeous digital images:

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

This is my card - you can read more about it on My Crafty Outlook here:

Now it's over to you. As usual, you can use any materials, any techniques, as long as the end result is a Christmas card - and this week please make a card that fits the theme 'carol singing', however you want to interpret that.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 22:00 UK time Friday 12 October.  Please mention my blog and create a link within the post for your creation.

You can enter as many times as you wish (a good way to build up your stock of Christmas cards) and also link to any other challenges that allow you to do so, but new work only, please.

A new challenge will be set on 13 October, which I will be joined by a Guest Designer.

Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added.

If you haven't done so already, please become a follower and grab my bright pink button to post on your sidebar and help continue to spread the word about this challenge blog - thank you.

Please remember also to have a look at my CHNC page on facebook - if you do go there please join in by clicking 'like' so that I know that you've been there.
