CHNC challenge 83: tie a ribbon

What a lovely lot of monochromatic cards were entered into last week's challenge. I enjoyed seeing them all and am glad that many of you are now building up quite a big collection of Christmas cards. By the time the present challenge has ended we will already be into August, so, if you haven't yet started on those festive cards, why not start with today's challenge?

I've so enjoyed 'seeing stars' all week - thank you for all your lovely entries. I think some of you are building up quite a nice supply of Christmas cards by now. If there's anyone who hasn't started yet, why not make this the week that you make your first Christmas card of this year - I guarantee that once you've got the Christmas stash out you'll want to make more!

Before I get on to today's challenge, I need to let you know the winner of challenge 82. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this is the result of using random.org:

Number 1: Kate T
who shared this lovely card

Congratulations, Kate! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to claim your $10 gift certificate from Digi Doodle Shop.

Challenge 83

For today's challenge I'm asking you to use some ribbon - whether you choose to actually tie it into a bow, a knot or whatever is up to you, as long as there is some ribbon on your Christmas card

Challenge 83 is being sponsored by Creative Treasures. Tracy says:

I’m Tracy and the owner of Creative Treasures, we are a family run business with a love of all things craft related. We stock a great range of mulberry flowers, pretty ribbons, seam binding, lace, pearls, buttons, charms and lots of pretty embellishments. We are always adding new stock. Our aim is to provide fantastic customer service and great value for money.

Tracy is generously giving this gift of ribbons and flowers to the randomly-chosen winner:

Catherine (Catiecuddles) has been my Guest Designer for the month of July - sadly, this is her last contribution for the time being, although I know that she will still be playing along with the challenges because she is as keen on making Christmas cards as I am! Thank you, Catherine, for joining me this month. Catherine made this lovely card using a tied ribbon - you can read about Catherine's card here.

And another one from Catherine - you can read about it here:

This is my first card (hope to be back later with more) - you can read more about it on My Crafty Outlook here:

I've added another card here on My Crafty Outlook, using a ribbon:

Now it's over to you. As usual, you can use any materials, any techniques, as long as the end result is a Christmas card - and this week please use some ribbon.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 22:00 UK time Friday 3 August.  Please mention my blog and create a link within the post for your creation.

You can enter as many times as you wish (a good way to build up your stock of Christmas cards) and also link to any other challenges that allow you to do so, but new work only, please.

A new challenge will be set on 4 August - and I will have a new Guest Designer joining me.

Please add your link to inlinkz. If by any chance it disappears, please leave a comment with the link to your blog post and I will make sure it is added.

If you haven't done so already, please become a follower and grab my bright pink button to post on your sidebar and help continue to spread the word about this challenge blog - thank you.

Please remember also to have a look at my CHNC page on facebook - if you do go there please join in by clicking 'like' so that I know that you've been there. During the week you'll find updates and hints of the next challenge - please feel free to chat there - I know that some of you do already - thank you.

CHNC challenge 82: monochrome

I've so enjoyed 'seeing stars' all week - thank you for all your lovely entries. I think some of you are building up quite a nice supply of Christmas cards by now. If there's anyone who hasn't started yet, why not make this the week that you make your first Christmas card of this year - I guarantee that once you've got the Christmas stash out you'll want to make more!

Congratulations, Rachel! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so I can arrange for you to claim your $21 gift certificate from Bugaboo Stamps.

Challenge 82

For today's challenge I'm asking you to make a monochromatic Christmas card - use mainly various tones of one colour with white/neutral, or just black and white if you prefer

And for this week's challenge Digi Doodle Shop are once again generously giving a $10 gift certificate to the randomly-chosen winner.

DigiDoodle Shop is the results of a mother and daughter’s love for the arts and crafts.  It was started a little over 3 years ago with a little more than 100 stamps, and has since then grown to almost 500 stamps.  Joy (the mother of this team) designs realistic images, while Judy (aka/daughter) loves the “fun side of life”, and create images with a cartoon flair.  Having these two complimenting styles have enabled
Digi Doodle Shop to offer a wide variety of stamps.

It is a real honor and pleasure to sponsor this challenge, and we look forward to seeing all the amazing creations.  We thank the design team for their incredible creations, and wish all the participants the very best of luck in this challenge.

Thank you so much for having us, and again the very best of luck to all of you.
Sincerely,
Judy and Joy

Once again, Catherine (Catiecuddles) is joining me as a Guest Designer. She made these lovely cards - the first one using the 'Christmas ornaments'  and the second one using 'church scene' digital stamp from Digi Doodle Shop - you can read about Catherine's cards here.

For my card, I've used the 'sliding penguins' image from Digi Doodle Shop - you can read more about my card here on My Crafty Outlook.

There's another monochromatic card from me - you can see details here:

and another red one from me - details here:

For today's challenge I'm asking you to feature at least one star on your Christmas card

Bugaboo Stamps are proud to sponsor this challenge - they are offering $21 of digital stamps to the randomly selected winner.

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: A Short Essay
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing!  From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.  Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!
If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps   at Totally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT   for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug

As the challenge is being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps, one of their team,Yvonne (Scrappy), is joining us as a Guest Designer with this delightful card - please click on the link and go to Scrappy's blog and leave her a comment.

Throughout the month of July I'm joined by Catherine (Catiecuddles) as a Guest Designer. Catherine has made two lovely cards for this challenge, using the 'stocking Santa star' digital image kindly supplied by Bugaboo Stamps:

Please go to Catherine's blog and leave her a comment.

CHNC challenge 80: snowmen

Not so many entries for last week's 'festive funnies' challenge, but I was certainly cheered up by the cards that were made and shown. I've had a very difficult week, having developed very painful shingles in my head/face, so I needed a few funnies!

Today's post is a long one - you will see below that there is some exciting news - I have a Guest Designer for the month of July.

Before I get on to today's challenge, I need to let you know the winner of challenge 79. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner and this is the result of using random.org:

Number 12: Pamela
who shared this lovely card:

Congratulations, Pamela! Please email me at hazelharris@ntlworld.com so that I can arrange for you to choose and receive your CD rom from  Ooh la la Creations .

Now we move on to today's challenge:

Challenge 80

For today's challenge I'd like to see snowmen (or women) on your Christmas card

Robyn'sFetish Digital Stamps And More is proud to sponsor this challenge.

Robyn'sFetish  Digital Stamps And More, a division of I Did It Creations, was created and is
owned by Robyn Weinrib.  Robyn offers a wonderful variety of digital stamps and digital papers,
designed to meet the needs of all digital paper crafting addicts for every  occasion.

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is happy to award  the winner the choice of  5 digital
stamps.

This challenge marks a very exciting development in that I have invited a Guest Designer to join me for the month of July. When I first set up this challenge blog in January 2011 I had no idea whether it would be successful, but, thanks to all those who play along week by week, it has become established. I didn't get a design team together, but now think it's time to involve Guest Designers. So I'm pleased to say that Catherine (known as Catiecuddles) is joining me for the July challenges. Catherine has been a very keen participant in my challenges, often submitting multiple entries.

This is what Catherine says:

'I am a wife and mum and on the side crafter. Never happier than when fingers are inky and glitter in my hair. I have been dabbling in craft for about 8 years although more seriously over the past two years when a extended period off work meant I had some time on my hands and I needed a bit of creativity in my life. Unfortunately now a full time job restricts the amount of crafting but I still manage a fair amount! My love of Christmas cards seems to know no bounds and the fact I am now creating them all year round is such fun... much to the amusement of others who can't quite understand my obsession! Therefore my natural home was found with Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Challenge.

I feel honoured to be chosen to be a guest designer this lovely month of July and I hope you enjoy what I've created and I look forward to seeing everyone else's creations.'

Catherine and I were given digital images by Robyn's Fetish. Catherine has made these lovely cards. The first  two cards features 'Carl the snowman:

And Catherine's third card features 'home for the holidays':

You can read more about these on Catherine's Christmas blog. Please visit Catherine's blog and leave her a comment.

For my card I've used the Robyn's Fetish 'Chester da snowman' digital image - you can read more about my card on My Crafty Outlook here.

I've added another card that you can read about here:

Now it's over to you. As usual, you can use any materials, any techniques, as long as the end result is a Christmas card - and this week please include a snowman or woman.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge - please add a link to your blog post (not your blog, but the actual post where your card can be found) by 22:00 UK time Friday 13 July. Please mention my blog and create a link within the post for your creation.

You can enter as many times as you wish (a good way to build up your stock of Christmas cards) and also link to any other challenges that allow you to do so, but new work only, please.

If you would like to be considered as a Guest Designer in the future please add GD after your name in inlinkz.

A new challenge will be set on 14 July.
